
Refugees all over the Middle East are yet again on the move to nowhere safe following the invasion of Iran.
Iran already hosts 1.65 million refugees – mostly from Afghanistan – according to the UNHCR. “Even before this conflict, refugees in Iran were impacted by the country’s dire economic situation,” a spokesperson said yesterday. As a consequence, refugees are forced to return to where they came from, facing renewed persecution.
In southern Lebanon, the Bekaa and the southern suburbs of Beirut, over 30,000 have fled their homes over the last few days after Israel issued evacuation warnings to residents of more than 53 villages amid intense airstrikes across the country.
And according to Syrian authorities,
around 11,000 people crossed from Lebanon into Syria on Monday alone.
